A Light In The Darkness: Seminary Expansion Campaign

On Sunday, May 21, 2023, the Saint Photios Orthodox Theological Seminary announced its “A Light in the Darkness: Seminary Expansion Campaign.”

The Seminary Expansion Campaign is a major initiative that aims to more than double the size of the Seminary facility and increase its capacity from fifteen to fifty students.

This project has been quietly in the works for years, with the administration and faculty planning and finalizing the design.

Last autumn, inside the classroom, the freshmen were laying a strong foundation for their understanding of the Orthodox Faith, of Holy Scripture, and of the teachings of the Church Fathers, while outside the building, construction began with bulldozers preparing the site and workers laying rebar for a strong foundation for this new facility expansion.

The concrete was poured in sections, the last section having been completed in January of this year, just as the students were returning to class for a new term.

With the blessing and support of Metropolitan Demetrius of America, the Seminary Expansion Campaign’s Honorary Chair, the Seminary is publicly announcing the project and its vision as we move forward to Phase 2!
